President Emmerson Mnangagwa has made some ministerial adjustments to the appointments made on Thursday to ensure compliance with the constitution and considerations on gender, demography and special needs.
In a statement, the Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Dr Misheck Sibanda said Cde Petronella Kagonye has been appointed Minister of Labour and Social Welfare, while Professor Paul Mavima becomes the new Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, replacing Dr Lazarus Dokora.
Further, Cde Mnangagwa has appointed Ambassador Christopher Mutsvangwa as Special Advisor to the President, Professor Clever Nyathi as Special Advisor in the Office of the President on National Peace and Reconciliation, which is expected to be headed by a Vice President to be appointed after the congress.
Cde Joshua Malinga is now the Special Advisor in the Office of the President on Disability Issues.
The special advisors’ appointment was made pending outcomes of the Zanu PF December congress.
Dr Sibanda said cabinet ministers are invited to State House in Harare for the swearing-in ceremony scheduled for Monday 4 December 2017 at 0900 hours.
