President Emmerson Mnangagwa has described the late Chief Mapanzure as a humble, wise and unassuming leader of his people for the past 12 years he was at the helm of the Mapanzure chieftainship.

The late chief (96), who was an uncle to the President, was born in 1922 on the 15th of October and died on the 22nd of this month.

Cde Mnangagwa today visited the Chief Mapanzure homestead in Mapanzure in the company of Vice President Retired General Constantino Chiwenga, where he advised children to always take care of their parents. 

He gave a brief history of the Shumba Murambwi clan which he said came from Mutoko and briefly settled in Hwedza before moving on and finally settling in Chivi.

Chief Mapanzure will be buried tomorrow and is survived by four wives and several children.
