The Vice Chancellor, Professor Obert Maravanyika, said the university’s market niche of culture, arts and technology is beginning to bear fruit.
The graduates completed degrees and diplomas in Education, Arts, Commerce and Social Sciences.
Professor Maravanyika acknowledged that this year’s graduation ceremony is the first of its kind as 20 graduates completed degree programmes in XiChangana and TshiVenda languages for the first time at this institution.
He commended this year’ graduates for persevering to complete their studies during times of economic hardships.
“This programme is a historic achievement in that this is the first instance in the country that these two languages have been taught at any level higher than primary school and today we proudly present the first crop of graduates in XiChangana and TshiVenda,” he said.
The graduation ceremony is the 5th in the history of the university.
