Head of State and Government and Commander-in-Chief of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces, President Robert Mugabe has arrived home from a visit to the Far East.
On his arrival at the Harare International Airport, Cde Mugabe said Zanu PF is getting ready for the December Annual People’s Conference to be held in Bulawayo, adding that the conference will be followed by general elections.
“We are organising for the conference in a very serious way. It is a very important event and we are organising it ahead of elections, which should be held definitely after the conference. We will not have another conference before elections,” Cde Mugabe said.
The President, who was in a jovial mood, took a swipe at sections of the private media claiming that he is not feeling well.Â
Contrary to illhealth claims, President Mugabe said he had spent time with his daughter, Bona during the visit.Â
Cde Mugabe was welcomed back home by Vice President Joice Mujuru, Information and Publicity Minister, Cde Webster Shamu, service chiefs and senior government officials.
