Chiefs have thanked President Robert Mugabe for his continued support of the works and operations of the traditional leaders in the country saying the bond between them and the President is inseparable.

In his vote of thanks at the close of the annual chief’s conference in Bulawayo, the deputy president of the Chief’s Council, Chief Mtshana Khumalo said the President remains the pillar of support to chiefs and the traditional leadership.

He thanked President Mugabe for the Presidential Inputs Support Scheme which has supported a number of vulnerable communities who do not have resources to procure seed and fertiliser.

Chief Mtshane encouraged government to speed up the implementation of the proposed command livestock programme to serve the interests of farmers in the dry regions of the country that receive little rainfall to sustain themselves through crop production.
