Preparations for President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s Meet-the-People rally in Mvuma are now at an advanced stage and the Midlands Minister of State Cde Owen Ncube has encouraged people to come out in their numbers.  

A bumper crowd is expected in Mvuma this Saturday when President Mnangagwa retraces his footsteps back to his former constituency Chirumhanzu Zibagwe as Head of State and Government to meet the people he once represented in the House of Assembly as their legislator.

Expectations are high in the constituency and the province as ED as his affectionately known by many in the province makes his maiden presidential political rally at Mvuma Stadium.

The President is expected to enunciate priorities of his new government, policy thrust as well as the direction and focus of the ruling party as it gears for the harmonised elections scheduled for this year.

Accompanied by a delegation of heads of government departments and senior Zanu PF party officials, Cde Ncube visited the venue for the President’s Meet-the-People rally for the final inspection of the venue.

Speaking to the ZBC News after the tour of the venue, the Midlands Minister of State urged the people from the province to come out in their numbers to meet the Cde Mnangagwa at Mvuma Stadium this Saturday.

It was a hive of activity at the site as the provincial office of public works was putting final touches at the venue with roads leading to the stadium being given a face lift, water pipes and ablution facilities also being repaired.

Midlands provincial administrator Mr Abiot Maronge expressed confidence that by Friday (tomorrow) afternoon the venue will be ready for the President’s Meet-the-People rally. 

The last time Cde Mnangagwa addressed a political rally in Mvuma was during Zanu PF by election campaigns for his successor of his parliamentary seat the First Lady who is also the legislator for Chirumhanzu Zibagwe constituency Cde Auxillia Mnangagwa.
