President Emmerson Mnangagwa has paid his condolences to the Ndlovu family in Harare this evening following the passing on Zanu PF Bulawayo provincial chairman Professor Callistus Ndlovu.
A hero of heroes, one of a rare breed of nationalists in the history of the nation whose status as a national hero was sealed even before the Zanu PF Politburo deliberated is the man Zimbabwe is mourning, said President Mnangagwa.
For as long as the President remembers him, having met him in the early 60’s Professor Ndlovu never for a moment wavered in his support for Zanu PF and the desire to see Zimbabwe develop.
A principled man, Professor Ndlovu was a man who spoke his mind and never one to be influenced by other people.
The people of Sanzukwi village, Mangwe district said the gesture by government to accord their son a national hero status gratifies them.
Professor Ndlovu died in South Africa last week on Wednesday where he was being treated through government assistance.
He is survived by his wife Angeline, several children and great grand children.
