President Emmerson Mnangagwa has challenged the youth to come up with roadmaps and viable recommendations to government to improve the state of social, economic and political welfare of the country.

In a speech read on his behalf by the Minister of Defence and War Veterans Cde Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri at the World Federation of Democratic Youth Africa Region Summit this Thursday in Harare, President Mnangagwa challenged the youth to be on the forefront of development and offer solutions to the problems currently being faced by government and Africa at large.

“As the youths, I therefore, challenge you to always be at the forefront in searching for winning formulas, strategies and technological innovation to value add and beneficiate our abundant natural endowments…,” he said.

President Mnangagwa further assured the youth that his new administration would always spearhead empowerment projects to foster youth development and inclusivity in all spheres of leadership and governance.

He urged the youth to play their respective part in putting national interests first.

“Let us recall that in our liberation struggles the youths of yester years paid the supreme sacrifice for us to gain political independence. It is now time for you our youths to make your own history and be heroes in the new global economic epoch,” said President Mnangagwa.

The 4-day summit which commenced on the 12th attracted both regional and international delegates including 23 African countries and 6 from outside the continent.
