The National Peace and Reconciliation Commission has been implored to preach the gospel of peace ahead of this year’s harmonised elections by engaging various stakeholders across the country.

The NPRC is holding dialogue programmes in various provinces as a way of introducing itself to communities and outlining their mandate.

Mashonaland Central Provincial Affairs Minister, Advocate Martin Dinha said the commission must preserve the prevailing peace in the country.

“As the country is looking forward to general elections in a few months time, it is prudent for the NPRC to foster peace across the country considering that the polls have been the source of conflict within communities,” he said.

The commission was formed to heal divisions of the past, reconcile communities and create a shared future that binds Zimbabweans together.

With this in mind, the late Vice President John Landa Nkomo’s anthem: ‘Peace begins with me, peace begins with you, peace begins with all of us,’ lives on.
