The Chartered Institute of Project Managers Zimbabwe (CIPMZ) says government should continuously monitor and implement the public private partnership (PPPs) framework to ensure they yield positive results as is being done in the agricultural sector.
The implementation of the PPPs and the joint venture policy seems to be yielding positive results in the agriculture and manufacturing sectors.
With such initiatives in place, stakeholders are mulling the hosting of a Public Private Partnership Conference to review progress and successes in some of the projects being implemented under the policy framework.
Project manager Mr Norman Hadzirabwi is of the view that the implementation of such projects has a huge contribution to the gross domestic product, hence the need to find ways of broadening the scope for more benefits.
The public private partnership and joint venture is the seventh point under the government’s 10-Point Plan for Economic Growth meant to boost the role and performance of state-owned firms.
