Zambian side Power Dynamos has completed their tour of Zimbabwe in style by beating Bulawayo giants Highlanders 2 – 1 at Luveve stadium in a preseason friendly.

The Zambians who first played a 1-all draw with Chicken In at the same venue on Saturday, were using their visit to Zimbabwe to fine tune for the start of the Zambian league that is set for the first week of April.

The Kitwe-based club’s general secretary Ricky Mamfunda was full of praises for the hospitality his side received during their stay and also pointed out that their visit was the perfect preparation for their gruelling season back home.

Despite the fact that the match against Bulawayo giants kicked off almost 2 hours late owing to poor communication on the assignment of referees for the match and a slow first half, the match did not lack exciting moments.

The visitors were the first to settle and were duly rewarded with a goal in the 31stminute through Lyson Sikaonga following some poor marking by Highlanders.

Sensing that his 4-3-3 formation was costing him, Bosso gaffer Erol Akbay made a double change by substituting the out of sorts Simon Munawa and Gabriel Nyoni for young Brian Banda and  Allen Gahadzikwa.

With the changes Bosso came back into the game resulting in them leveling matters when Banda curled a pin-point cross into the box that was headed home by Gahadzikwa in the 56th minute.

Tshilamoya was to pay for missing clear cut opportunities as they were once again punished for sloppy defending with Sikaonga easily tapping home with 6 minutes to fulltime to ensure his side finished their tour of duty in style.

The two coaches, Danile Kabwe of Power Dynamos and Erol Akbay of Highlanders were satisfied with the match in preparing their sides for the 2017 league action.

Highlanders were also using the match to fine tune for their ZNA Charity Shield defence semi-final tie against FC Platinum set for Barbourfields stadium on Sunday.

The winner of that encounter will face Caps United in the final  who got the better of their bitter nemesis Dynamos in the other semi final.
