At a time the government is spearheading adoption of information communication technologies (ICTs) at the learner’s doorstep, some schools are still grappling with the need to have electricity at educational centers.
Dangare Primary School in Mutare’s Sakubva suburb is set to see learners soon accessing computers for lessons after a well-wisher ensured that their library has power.
“The desire is to ensure the school becomes part of the World Wide Web,” an entrepreneur, Dr Nancy Saungweme said.
Educational authorities say the coming into being of the library will see the community benefit from computers at the institution.
Despite financial constraints, there has been a deliberate push to ensure that ICTs become the buzzword among learners in the country with early childhood centers now offering computer studies.
