Popular artist and businessman, Tendai Mupfurutsa and Blessing Nyambuya are facing charges of fraud involving US$75 000.The two who are both directors of Zimswag, a company that promotes music, are alleged to have misrepresented to one businessman, Wonder Hama that they had exclusive rights to sell beer at the Akon-Sean Paul show that was held at the National Sports Stadium in September last year.
It is further alleged that the complainant deposited US$75 000 into Mupfurutsa and Nyambuya’s accounts.
It is understood that when the complainant went to the show to sell beer he was surprised to realise that many people were selling the same commodity despite him having purchased the exclusive rights.
It is believed that the complainant was advised no one had exclusive rights to sell beer.
The complainant lost his valued cash and nothing was recovered.
Meanwhile, the case was supposed to be heard before the court but could not kick off as it has been established that the summons were not properly served to the accused.
Mupfurutsa is reported to be unwell.
