The council’s Advocacy Officer, Trust Govera, said the campaign activities will include educational awareness campaigns and mobile voluntary counseling and testing sites against stigma and discrimination.

Mr Govera urged stakeholders in the fight against HIV/AIDS to assist with funds for this year’s commemorations, which will be held in Mutare at Sakubva Stadium.

Meanwhile, during the official launch of the HIV National Conference in Harare last month, the Head of State and Government and Commander-in-Chief of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces, President Robert Mugabe urged men in leadership positions in government and communities to take a leading role in the national response to HIV.
