The Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture Kazembe Kazembe says his ministry will endeavour to create a conducive environment that will enable corporates to partner and sponsor sport.
Kazembe said the corporate governance policy will ensure only qualified sports administrators and those meeting set standards and requirements run for public office to run sport.
He was speaking during a dinner gala held in honour of the retiring football administrator and former Black Rhinos chairman Retired Lieutenant General Engelbert Rugeje in the capital yesterday night.
The retiring football administrator bemoaned the lack of a clear junior development policy in the country.
Retired Lieutenant General Rugeje also challenged the national soccer mother body, Zifa, and the Premier Soccer League to give football legends their place in football administration and ensure there is regular interaction with retired players and also to make sure the welfare of yesteryear stars is well taken care of.
