The police must remain resolute in its discharge of duties and help create an enabling environment for peace and tranquillity ahead of next year’s harmonised elections.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) Police Protection Unit (PPU) held an end of year party at Tomlison depot in Harare, where Senior Assistant Commissioner Lee Muchemwa, who was represented by PPU Commissioner – Operations, Alphios Mpofu, said the police must reflect on its success and failures in renewing its efforts towards ensuring a crime free environment.

Senior Assistant Commissioner Muchemwa also highlighted that the force has been affected by a number of challenges in the discharge of duties.

Entertainment was provided by the Police Band, which belted out some fine lyrics, much to the enjoyment of the audience.
