Police have recorded 15 murder cases in a space of two weeks most of them attributed to beer drinking, domestic violence and infidelity.

In shocking revelations three children below the age of five have being murdered while several women were killed in cold blood murder perpetrated mostly by drunken and violent fathers.

In one of the spine chilling murder case a father and friend returned from beer drinking and killed a five old for allegedly eating all the rice cooked at the house before dumping the body which was found in a decomposing state in a disused well while another child was killed and dumped in a disused car.

Another person was killed for failing to account for money he was sent by the accused to buy airtime recharge card.

Two other women were gruesomely murdered by their husbands who cut their throats and left them for dead.

A man was also killed after his relatives accused him of not consoling them following the death of his two sons.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police spokesperson Senior Assistant Commissioner Charity Charamba said police is worried at the rampant rate of murder cases and appealed to people especially women to report abusive husbands to police and not to wait until disaster strikes.

Police has also appealed to church leaders, village heads, chiefs and other community elders to conduct awareness campaigns in their areas and collaborate with police to prevent domestic violence which result in the rise in murder cases.

Meanwhile, police revealed that 16 pedestrians have also been killed on the country’s roads during the same period.
