stop_rape.jpgPolice are investigating the case of a suspected serial rapist who is operating in Dzivarasekwa using similar methods.
Police spokesperson, Inspector James Sabau, said the suspect who is still on the run is alleged to have deceived people into believing that he would show them maize fields in Dzivarasekwa before raping them on the way.
Four different cases were reported last month while another case was reported over the weekend.
It is alleged that the suspect at one occasion said he wanted to facilitate employment opportunities for a 28 year-old woman before taking her to an open space near Tynwald where he raped her.
Inspector Sabau urged women to be on the lookout for such criminals.
Cases of serial rapists have been reported and one of the infamous perpetrators, Mlamleli Mpofu who used to operate in Mufakose and Budiriro, was last year convicted by Harare magistrate, Mr. Peter Kumbawa.
He was sentenced to an effective 60 years in prison.
