Parents and school authorities have been urged to support early childhood development (ECD) skills.

This emerged at a sports gala which was held in Harare.

It was a fun day at the Italian Sports Club where infants of Hurlings Pre-school participated in various sporting competitions as part of the new curriculum aimed at strengthening mind developing activities.

The event organiser Mary Esterhuizen commended the requirements of the new curriculum in the education sector.

Parents who were present at the sports day encouraged others to support and motivate the young ones for a strong foundation of their future.

The new curriculum which was introduced by the government was at first received with mixed feelings by parents but they now acknowledge its benefits.
