Hosts Pamushana High School were crowned NASH Stella Tea national 17 years and under netball champions following their 21-14 demolition of Mpopoma in Bikita on Friday (yesterday).

Pamushana have been champions for four successive years from 2012 to 2016, and were the only side at the tournament to finish the games without defeat.

Pamushana corrected their previous costly mistakes having been knocked out in the quarters by Sikhulile in 2017 following another loss in the final to the same opponents a year earlier.

Team coach, Simbarashe Mlambo heaped praises on his charges for the job well done while Bulawayo champions Mpopoma accepted defeat in its crude ugliness, though they aim for a possible strong come back next year.

Pamushana High School pocketed US$5 280 for their efforts whilst Mpopoma got US$3 840 for finishing second and Mnene US$2 400 for collecting bronze.

Meanwhile, a 12 member team to represent Zimbabwe at the forthcoming COSSASA games to be staged in Namibia was selected at the national finals with this year’s champions Pamushana dominating the list with five players.
