A five-member team of Palestinian media experts has arrived in the country for a knowledge transfer programme with the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Cooperation (ZBC), which is set to launch the country’s first ever 24-hour news channel soon.

Head of the delegation, Mr Imod Zuhairi, who is also the Director General of the Palestine International Cooperation Agency said his team which comprises experts in radio, television broadcasting and print is pleased to exchange knowledge and expertise with ZBC.

“We arrived today for a knowledge transfer programme in the media industry. It is about time for us Palestinians to give back to Zimbabwe, so we are willing to work with local medial. I have four experts in television, radio and print to strengthen the capacities of media people in Zimbabwe,” he said.

Palestinian Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Ambassador Taghrid Senouar emphasised on the friendly relations between the two countries, saying her country is looking forward to further cooperation even in other fields.

“Today we are receiving a team from the Palestine Broadcasting Corporation to enhance the brotherly relations between Palestine and Zimbabwe. We hope that more cooperation will be realized in other areas,” she said.

Some of the key areas of the training include news gathering and production for digital platforms, and television presentation skills.
