More than 170 exhibitors have so far confirmed participation as compared to 130 exhibitors who showcased their products last year.

The organisers of the Premier Travel Expo, the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority says, all is set for the yearly event which offers a platform for stakeholders in the industry to market their services as well as to enter into strategic partnerships under one roof.

ZTA spokesperson, Mr Sugar Chagonda, said the Sanganai/Hhlanganani Tourism and Travel Fair will kick-off in the form of a Sanganai Street procession which will culminate in the famous tourism night.

“Over 170 exhibitors, 20 foreign companies, 13 countries, 35 media houses from across the globe and 70 buyers have confirmed participation.

The fair is important as it is a chance for the country to market itself to the outside world and show case the country’s seven wonders inherent in the new tourism brand which are the people and their cultures, the majestic Victoria Falls, pristine wildlife, Great Zimbabwe, Matopos and the Nyanga mountains among others,” said Mr Chagonda.

The Premier Tourism Travel Exhibition, Sanganai/Hhlanganani, will be held from the 8th to the 12th of October at the HICC after the organisers heeded the call by industry to change the venue of the exhibition from the Agriculture Show Grounds to the HICC.

The People’s Republic of China is the partner country for this year‘s edition of Sanganai/Hlanganani in appreciation of the increasing number of tourists arrivals from that country.

Among the VIPs expected to grace this year’s fair include the Minister of Tourism from Poland. Poland is the current European Union chair.
