copac chivi.jpgThe Constitutional Parliamentary Committee (COPAC) outreach team in Masvingo Province has completed the first phase of its outreach programme in Chivi District.

 

In the province, 96 centres which are part of 32 wards have been covered in Chivi District which was the outreach team’s first port of call. 

 

The team is now starting work in Mwenezi District, which is made up of 18 wards and 52 centres.

 

COPAC co-chairperson, Mr. Douglas Mwonzora who was recently in Masvingo on an assessment tour observed that the public in Masvingo in general and Chivi District in particular had received adequate education on their role in the crafting of a new constitution.

 

COPAC Provincial Coordinator for Masvingo, Chief Fortune Charumbira echoed the same sentiments and thanked people in his province for demonstrating a culture of maturity, tolerance and unity in the process of creating a new people driven national constitution.
 
At all outreach programmes, there was more that 50 percent of women participation.
