A call has been made for the society to assist orphans and vulnerable children, and empower through education.

This came out during a donation at Wings of Grace Orphanage in Harare on Saturday.

The event was organised by a local junior school to give to the needy and raise awareness on the need to support disadvantaged children.

A number of vulnerable children and orphans had a platform to interact with other young children, showcasing their talents which include singing, acting and poetry.

Mr Tarisai Jingo, the Principal of Woodridge Junior School said children at his school saw the importance of giving a hand to vulnerable children, hence the idea to gather items which they shared with children from Wings of Grace Ophanage in Mufakose.

Wings of Grace Orphanage founder, Gogo Winnet Gwanzura and orphanage Spokesperson, Noreen Khozomba said they were moved by the support to the vulnerable children.

A consignment of items which includes satchels, clothes, blankets and food staffs was donated by the junior students with the aim of assisting the vulnerable young people in their education.
