Organisers of the annual Victoria Falls Agricultural Show are optimistic that this year’s exhibition, which runs from the 26th to the 30th of this month, will result in the creation of mutually beneficial synergies and adoption of strategies towards the revitalisation of the domestic agricultural sector.

Dubbed the people’s show, the 3rd Victoria Falls Agricultural Show is set to attract more than 70 exhibitors from different sectors of the domestic economy.

Several government departments, seed companies, communal farmers and tertiary institutions have confirmed their participation at the exhibition to be held at Chinotimba Stadium in the resort town.

Show manager, Mr Tendai Moyo said there are a lot of untapped economic opportunities in and around Victoria Falls and is bullish that small holder farmers will make use of the upgraded Victoria Falls International Airport to export horticultural products to different markets across the globe.

“We are finalising the preparations and everything is now in place for the hosting of the annual exhibition. We are looking forward to a success show where participants will market their products and enter into mutually beneficial partnerships,” he said.

The 2018 edition of the annual fair will be held under the theme: ‘Building Green Economy Linkages and Beneficiation Networks,’ which seeks to highlight the importance of the sustainable utilisation of natural resources.

The implementation of the Victoria Falls special economic zone has created a lot of excitement, among small to medium enterprises in Matabeleland North Province who are into fish farming, horticulture business and furniture production.
