Agro-business concern, Agri Value Chain Zimbabwe is finalising construction of an oil extraction and refinery plant in Chegutu, with operations expected to start end of November.
Work on the oil processing plant is nearing completion, with a greater part of the requisite machinery having already been installed.
The plant will extract and refine oil from 7000 tonnes of cotton seed and 4000 tonnes of soya monthly, and is expected to employ 75 permanent workers, according to Agri Value Chain Zimbabwe General Manager Rakesh Yadav.
Chegutu West Legislator Dexter Nduna welcomed the development which he said is in line with the new trajectory of opening up Zimbabwe for business.
The agro-business concern set base at premises previously owned by cotton industry player, Cargill.
