The National Railways of Zimbabwe has re-introduced commuter trains in Bulawayo today, with hundreds of people on board.
It was all smiles as hundreds of commuters in Bulawayo dropped off at the NRZ main station from Cowdray Park suburb.
With the recent omnibus operators fare hikes witnessed in the past month, commuters aboard the train expressed their joy saying the trains have saved them from unscrupulous commuter omnibus operators.
Some of the commuters urged NRZ to reduce the fare to 30 cents and adjust their departure times.
NRZ Public Relations Officer Nyasha Maravanyika said they will introduce other commuter trains in Bulawayo and Harare as soon as they have enough resources.
