evictedd.jpgThe Mashonganyika family’s Christmas celebrations were thrown into turmoil when the Norton Deputy Sheriff evicted them from their stand after the council repossessed it for failure to developing it within the stipulated time frame.

With everyone going about their business to have the best festive season celebrations in a long time, knowing that at the end of the day they will have a roof over their head, for the Mashonganyika family this year the celebrations will have to wait as they sort out where they will live next.

Narrating their ordeal, the Mashonganyika family claim the Norton Town Council repossessed their stand as they were not developing it and sold it to someone else and in August instructed them to stop paying rates.

What has been puzzling many people, is the reason why people can be evicted from a stand because they cannot manage to develop it, and why the authorities waited for the festive season to evict  the family, given the family has no recourse  to the courts until next year when the courts resume sitting.
