happison muchechetere 07-08-12.pngThe visiting Xinhua News Agency delegation from China has hailed relations with the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) saying the two media organisations have a responsibility to their people in reporting objectively.

This was said by Director of China’s Xinhua International Services News Agency, Mr. Wu Yihong when he led a delegation which toured ZBC News.

Speaking through an interpreter, Mr. Wu called for more co-operation between Xinhua and ZBC while pointing out that the Chinese News Agency which went into the electronic media two years ago hopes to learn a lot from ZBC’s vast broadcasting experience.

ZBC Group CEO, Mr. Happison Muchechetere also applauded relations with Xinhua which date back to the 1980’s while noting that the Chinese News Agency remains the only credible source of news at the global stage.

He said: “We used to take news from Reuters and other news agencies but have since discovered that Xinhua is the only objective story teller which does not support any side.”

The delegation also toured ZBC Broadcasting Centre facilities.

Relations between China and Zimbabwe continue growing day by day with co-operation in the information age reaching historic levels.
