President Mugabe tours industries in Lusaka PDF Print E-mail

presidents mugabe and sata.jpgThe Head of State and Government and Commander-in- Chief of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces, President Robert Mugabe has toured a number of industries in Lusaka, Zambia.

 

The President left Harare this Thursday for the Zambian capital, where he is expected to officially open the 86th edition of the Zambia Agricultural and Commercial Show this Saturday.

 

Earlier on this Friday, President Mugabe met Zambia's founding president, Dr Kenneth Kaunda, whom he described as a living liberation icon in the Southern Africa region.

 

Cde Mugabe is accompanied by the First Lady, Amai Grace Mugabe, Agriculture, Mechanisation and Irrigation Development Minister, Dr Joseph Made and the Deputy Minister of Industry and Commerce, Cde Mike Bimha.


21 Zimbabwean companies are participating in the Zambia agriculture and commercial showcase.

They are involved in seed production, timber, garden tools and agricultural equipment manufacturing, transformers, canned fruit and vegetables, production of plastics, leather wear and agrochemicals.

Zambian President Michael Sata officially opened the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair in Bulawayo in April this year, demonstrating the warm brotherly ties between the two neighbouring countries.
