Diplomats bid farewell to President Mugabe |

Outgoing Mozambican Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Dr Visente Veloso and outgoing American Ambassador, Mr Charles Ray today bid farewell to the Head of State and Government and Commander-in-Chief of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces, President Robert Mugabe.
Dr Veloso has completed his six-year tour of duty in the country.
The Mozambican ambassador said the highlight of his stay in Zimbabwe was the scrapping of visas between the two countries which has seen business growing.
He thanked President Mugabe for having facilitated his stay and work in Zimbabwe, adding that the relationship between the two nations is excellent.
Outgoing American Ambassador, Mr Ray said as a diplomat, he did his part to normalise relations between the two countries after three of his predecessors left the country in a huff.
Ambassador Ray said he is happy to have seen relations between Zimbabwe and his country warming up, adding that he expects the relationship to grow further.
He will be retiring after 60 years in public service.
