no to sanctions campaign.jpgA local empowerment lobby group, the Affirmative Action Group, has rubbished the talk of the European Union suspending sanctions imposed on Zimbabwe saying nothing short of the unconditional removal of the illegal embargo will be accepted.

AAG President Keith Guzah said the illegal sanctions imposed on the country should be unconditionally removed as they were unilaterally imposed on Zimbabwe by the West over a bilateral standoff between Zimbabwe and Britain.

“The sanctions have to be unconditionally removed and the talk of suspension is utter rubbish. They have no place in Zimbabwe and we demand that they be removed without delay as they are affecting innocent people,” he said.

The inclusive government has been engaging the European Union on the issue of the illegal sanctions and parties in the inclusive government have all spoken with one voice that sanctions should go unconditionally.

The office of the Attorney General has also instituted litigation procedures via the International Court demanding an audience on the matter regarding the embargo.
