Youths from across the political divide have hailed the Head of State and Government and Commander-in-Chief of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces, President Robert Mugabe for his visionary leadership as the nation commemorates his 88th birthday.
The 21st of February has given youths time to reflect on the achievements of Cde Robert Mugabe, whose 88th birthday marks the President’s 32 years at the helm of the country.
The youths said political and economic empowerment has been the hall mark of the President’s rule.
Youths who spoke to ZBC News said Cde Mugabe’s 88th birthday is an occasion to celebrate, not only for the Zanu PF party, but for all Zimbabweans, adding that locals have scaled to political, social and economic levels that would have been unattainable without his leadership.
Before independence, the country was in the hands of whites at the expense of the majority indigenous Zimbabweans, who were suppressed by the economic and political situation of the time.
