evangelist-p.d.-chiweshe.jpgScores of Apostolic Faith Mission followers thronged AFM Mount Carmel Church in Unit P Chitungwiza to mourn the Evangelist Phanuel Dzangare Chiweshe who died Tuesday night at Parirenyatwa Hospital in Harare.

This strong rebuking voice is no more! Evangelist Chiweshe succumbed to a kidney failure.

Famed for taking Christ’s gospel to another level in Zimbabwe, Evangelist Chiweshe was consistent and gave preaching a new meaning.

He was one of the pioneers of the Apostolic Faith Mission in Zimbabwe and a great mentor to many modern day pastors.

Brother and family spokesperson, Mr. Israel Dzangare said his family has been robbed of a pillar of strength and without him life will never be the same.

AFM in Zimbabwe Secretary General, Reverend Amon Madawo said Evangelist Chiweshe’s death has robbed his church of a mentor and adviser. He likened the role that the late Evangelist played to a roof that shielded and protected the AFM church.

United Family International leader, Prophet Emmanuel Makandiwa and Heartfelt Ministries International founder, Apostle Tavonga Vutabwashe who were mentored by the veteran Evangelist early in their missions also expressed sadness at the death of Evangelist Chiweshe.

A principled man of God who was not disrupted from his mission by the love of money, Evangelist Chiweshe died at a time he was preaching at an AFM crusade in Mabelreign.

Only last week, ZBC News interviewed him and he spoke his mind on the so-called prosperity gospel.

Famed for his sermons such as Kana Zvamubata and Baba VeBenzi among others, Evangelist Chiweshe suffered from a kidney failure two years ago and had been going through dialysis since then.

He will be buried at Warren hills cemetery on Friday.

General Chiweshe, words can't explain your work and dedication. Chitungwiza is a town because of you. Many repented upon your teachings nation wide and am one of the many. Through you I knew my God and you gave me direction. Mount Carmel, Chitungwiza, Zimbabwe and Sub Saharian Africa lost a gallant man of God. Soon and very soon...........kupa kunashe inhange-mutange among other songs were his favorite.

Pastor Chiweshe you are with the Lord Jesus right now, a great man of valour in the Gospel. Like Jeremiah, God knew you even before birth, and you passing on was also a plan of God. I pay my last respect, and assuredly say to you that like Elijah and Elisha you died after running the race very well! The Bible says that (me & those who believe in Jesus as Son of God) which is is born of God will overcome this world... as such we are overcoming and one day we will meet; it may not be now, tomorow.. but one day we will meet with the Lord.

To all of us who had the priviledge to witness such great work and focus on the part of PD Chiweshe, let run this race of faith and declare our victory even now because Jesus is Coming! or we will die to meet our sweet Lord in heaven.

PD Chiweshe's soul is in peace so I will not wish his sould peace because such a status is not conferred by human words but by works.

Praise God!

PRESIDENT R.G. MUGABE QUOTES

"I am here for as long as I am still sane, with good memory and will power. I thank God for giving me extra strength. I still have a bright mind; I still have will. I know our history more than you do. I know the wishes of those heroes and those who lie elsewhere more than you do. I know the wishes of the chiefs, dead and alive." - At 6th Zanu PF National People's Congress, 2014.
