Zimbabwe will host the All Africa Bodybuilding contest this November, a competition that is expected to endorse the country’s presence and dominance in the world of muscle mania.
The contest will draw the best from the north, east, west and south of Africa.
National Federation of Zimbabwe Bodybuilding and Fitness Secretary General, Otis Goredema says the continental competition is dangling US$10 000 for the best man and already excitement is abuzz from the region as competitors eye the title.
“We have already received amazing responses from South Africa who have already registered 20 athletes, Ivory Coast have six already. Successful hosting means Zimbabwe is there among the best like your north Africans and east Africans who have had a monopolistic hold on that event,” said Goredema.
An estimated 150 athletes are expected in the capital for the All Africa Bodybuilding which will also crown Mr Zimbabwe.
The next four months will certainly be a gruelling time for bodybuilders as they shape their bodies into correct symmetries hoping to land the African title.
Saturday’s Mr Muscle Mania will thus come as preparatory ground for aspiring contestants.
