under19 cricket1.jpgThe Zimbabwe Under 19 Cricket team has intensified its preparations for the ICC Under 19 Cricket World Cup in Australia later next month.

The junior cricketers played a friendly preparatory match against Zimbabwe A side at the Country Districts Sports Clubs at the weekend.

The players believe they are ready for the challenge down under as some of the players have posted big scores during the preparatory matches.

Vice-captain Kevin Kasuza says the youngsters are ready and would like to prove their mettle against some of the world’s best.

The team was involved in a series of high profile preparatory matches against competitive sides.

The youthful side looks balanced and will not take their matches lightly against highly-ranked teams such as India and the West Indies.

Only Papua New Guinea is ranked lower than Zimbabwe.
