cricket zim.jpgAll rounder, Matthew Bentley will captain the Zimbabwean Under-19 cricket team for the Junior World Cup to be staged by Australia.

Having spent the past few months preparing for the junior cricket’s most prestigious event, Zimbabwe has finally named its squad that will tour Australia.

Bentley, a St Georges old boy will captain the Young Flame Lillies, who will be hoping to hold their own in Australia.

Mountaineers’ Kevin Kasuza will deputise him.

Takashinga player, Wellington Masakadza is another player who has been included in the national side, which also features Kyle Bowie, Ryan Burl, Herbert Chikomba and Atish Chouhan.

Kieran Geyle, Luke Jongwe, Malcolm Lake, Campbell Light, Luke Masasire, Nyasha Mayavo, Curthbert Musoko, Andre Odendaal and Peacemore Zimwa are the other players set to travel to Australia.

Shoun Handirisi, Odicious Mhanje and Liberty Nherera are the three non-travelling players who have been called to provide cover in the event of injuries.

Zimbabwe are placed in Group C alongside West Indies, India and Papa New Guinea.

They will open their World Cup campaign against Papa New Guinea on the 11th of August.
