warriors 26-04-12.jpgWarriors head coach, Rahman Gumbo has announced his 18-member squad headed for Mozambique.

Gumbo stuck to the bulk of his guns that battled in the 2014 World Cup opening qualifier against Guinea, but with plenty of legs on offer upfront, the Warriors gaffer was forced to drop Charles Sibanda and Francis Zvikumbawira as well as the diminutive budding Dynamos defender, Patson Jaure.

Gumbo has opted for the more menacing and roving Hwange captain and attacking midfielder, Rodwell Chinyengetere who scored Chipangano’s two goals in the 2012 African safari, the CAF Confederations Cup.

He has also entrusted the experience and height of Botswana based Arnold Chaka ahead of the young Jaure.

Captain Tapiwa Kapini will lead the Zimbabwean squad that also features veterans Esrom Nyandoro, Tinashe Nengomasha, Vusa Nyoni and Onismo Bhasera.

With Nyandoro now pinned as the last man in the defence, hopes are that he will get enough support and cover from Carrington Nyadombo, Bhasera, Nyoni and the midfield.

PRESIDENT R.G. MUGABE QUOTES

"I am here for as long as I am still sane, with good memory and will power. I thank God for giving me extra strength. I still have a bright mind; I still have will. I know our history more than you do. I know the wishes of those heroes and those who lie elsewhere more than you do. I know the wishes of the chiefs, dead and alive." - At 6th Zanu PF National People's Congress, 2014.

Now that Zimbabwe will not participate at the FIFA 2018 World Cup, the ZIFA board must be fired and another appointed to work on developing soccer in the country.
