zrp- augustine chihuri newww.pngThe Zimbabwe Republic Police Commissioner General Augustine Chihuri has called on the populace to join the police force in stamping out corruption to maintain professional law enforcement.

Commissioner General Chihuri made the remarks at the hand over ceremony of prizes to winners of the 2013 Commissioner General’s Funfair raffle draw.

“We come from the people and we look to the people to help stamp out this scourge and people should not just say we are corrupt when we have no evidence presented,” said Commissioner General Chihuri.

The grand prize winner, Mr Adrick Nagoma, who won a single cab Ford Ranger, praised the police for giving back to the community, adding that the people should support the funfair as it is for a just cause.

“This outstanding vision you have as the police is pleasing and you should not tire. To the people I say keep supporting the police in all programmes to make the country a better place,” Mr Nagoma said.

The raffle also saw four couples winning two nights’ accommodation and spending money at various resorts in the country.

The second prize, a Yamaha motorbike went to Nqobizitha Mpofu of Murehwa, while ZRP Morris Depot won the third prize, a 5kva generator.

PRESIDENT R.G. MUGABE QUOTES

"I am here for as long as I am still sane, with good memory and will power. I thank God for giving me extra strength. I still have a bright mind; I still have will. I know our history more than you do. I know the wishes of those heroes and those who lie elsewhere more than you do. I know the wishes of the chiefs, dead and alive." - At 6th Zanu PF National People's Congress, 2014.
