copac logo.jpgThe Constitution Select Committee (COPAC) says the Second All Stakeholders Conference will be held next month when the COPAC draft and national statistical report are expected to be tabled.

Copac says the controversial draft and the national statistical report will be tabled for debate.

Copac Co-chairperson, Cde Paul Mangwana said Zanu PF, as a stakeholder in the constitution making process, is allowed to bring its amendments so that they will be considered for inclusion in the new constitution.

The other Co-chairperson, Mr Douglas Mwonzora of the MDC-T, said the preparatory meetings are meant to ensure that all logistics are in place ahead of the crucial conference.

It has taken over three years for Copac to come up with a draft constitution that has attracted controversy.

Though the process has gobbled more than US$40 million, it has failed to satisfy all stakeholders.

Zanu PF has since made amendments to the Copac draft to ensure that it reflects the views of the majority.
