Zim observes SADC Day PDF Print E-mail

sadc-symbol.jpgAmbassadors of SADC member states accredited to Zimbabwe in collaboration with government, the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe and other players convened in Harare this Friday to observe SADC Day for the first time in the country.

 

Representing SADC ambassadors was Zambian Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Ms Ndiyoyi Mutiti who said it is important for SADC member states to join hands in celebrating the day in honour of the founding fathers of the organisation.


She also paid tribute to the achievements and progress the organisation has scored in various aspects of regional integration and solidarity.


Guest of honour at the event, Tourism and Hospitality Industry Minister, Cde Walter Mzembi, said SADC member states should enhance cooperation, especially in the areas of investment and immigration.


He urged member states to double their efforts in working together ahead of the forthcoming UNWTO General Assembly.
