The government anti-retroviral procurement body, the National Aids Council, has applauded research being conducted by local scientists on the amount of dose to be given to patients on ARV’s, saying if adopted, the findings may help reduce cases of drug resistance and complications of drug metabolism.

The Harare City Health Department has conceded that laboratory tests conducted by government analysts and the Standards Association of Zimbabwe have confirmed that fish from Lake Chivero is not contaminated with typhoid bacteria, but the bulk of the fish and other cooked foods that are being sold in open places are getting contaminated due to poor handling by vendors.
