Renowned sungura musician, Somandla Ndebele, who has released a six-track CD album and a single video of the title track, “Vimbanai”, says he is willing to assist his late colleague Tongai Moyo’s son, Peter, to nurture him.
The Dzivarasekwa-based sungura musician says his dream of working on more collaborations with his long time buddy, the late Tongai Moyo, will live on through his friend’s son, Peter.
‘Mafia’ as Ndebele is affectionately known, described Peter Moyo as a star in the making.
Ndebele, who has worked on a string of shows with Peter, says he is happy with the performances they have done so far and is prepared to help groom him to become a star just like his father whom he shared notes with.
With many people wondering what will become of Peter Moyo in his new career as a musician, such assistance may go a long way in reviving Dhewa’s music.
Meanwhile, Soma has released a new 6-track CD and DVD album “Vimbanai” which comes with a single video of the title song. Other songs on the CD include “Akarasa Hama”, “Headquarters” and “Chenai”.
