tanyanyiwa.jpgBail application ruling for Chitungwiza Town Clerk, Godfrey Tanyanyiwa has been deferred to next week.

The presiding magistrate indicated that she will only consider Tanyanyiwa’s bail application next week to enable the state to finalise investigations.

The State through the investigating officer, Mr. Serviours Kufandada had indicated that Tanyanyiwa will interfere with investigations if he is to be granted bail.

Tanyanyiwa is facing 50 counts of corruption and eight counts of fraud involving more than US$700 000.

The allegations arose after he abused council funds and buy a house and a vehicle without following procedures.

Investigations are pointing to the arrest of more senior officials at Chitungwiza Town Council.
