court.jpgA United Methodist pastor Moyoungoziva Murawuro has been arraigned before a Harare Magistrate, facing charges of raping a fourteen year old girl.

The 40 year old pastor is facing three counts of raping a 14 year old who was living under his roof.

The state led by Mr. Cuthbert Mukandiri alleges that the man of cloth took custody of the complainant in 2007 upon request by the complainant’s mother who then left for South Africa to seek employment.

It is further alleged that Murawuro raped the complainant on three different occasions when his wife had gone out on church business.

It is understood after raping the minor for the first time in July 2007, Pastor Murawuro is alleged to have threatened to chase the complainant from his home if she reported the case.

The matter came to light this year after the mother of the complainant returned from South Africa and noted that her child was behaving strangely leading to the arrest of Pastor Moyoungoziva Murawuro.

The case has been adjourned to June 29 for trial.

PRESIDENT R.G. MUGABE QUOTES

"I am here for as long as I am still sane, with good memory and will power. I thank God for giving me extra strength. I still have a bright mind; I still have will. I know our history more than you do. I know the wishes of those heroes and those who lie elsewhere more than you do. I know the wishes of the chiefs, dead and alive." - At 6th Zanu PF National People's Congress, 2014.
