Zimbabwe will participate at the US-Africa Business Summit, which will roar into life tomorrow (Monday) in Ethiopia.

Local top executives from the private sector are set to attend the business summit hosted by the Corporate Council on Africa and expected to attract more than 1000 business representatives.

In an interview before his departure for the summit, the head of delegation, who is also the American Business Association of Zimbabwe Chairman, Mr Tinashe Rwodzi, said this is an import event that will be used to explain the progress made by government in promoting foreign direct investment.

"Participating at the summit will present an opportunity to promote brand Zimbabwe to the international audience. We are using the summit to showcase Zimbabwe as an attractive investment destination, share information on investment opportunities and promote Zimbabwean services and products. Our presence has made a huge statement about the potential we have as a nation and the theme for the delegation is 'Think Investment - Think Zimbabwe," he said.

Besides representatives from the American Business Association of Zimbabwe, there are also other organisations represented such as ZIMTRADE, Confederation of Zimbabwe Industries (CZI), Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ), Bankers Association of Zimbabwe (BAZ), Standards Association of Zimbabwe (SAZ) and the Chamber of Mines, among others.

The four-day business summit will feature sector focused panels, country specific forums, site visits, exhibitions and networking opportunities.

On Wednesday, the delegation will host a dedicated two hour doing business in Zimbabwe forum where they will make presentations and market Zimbabwe as a prime investment destination.

PRESIDENT R.G. MUGABE QUOTES

"I am here for as long as I am still sane, with good memory and will power. I thank God for giving me extra strength. I still have a bright mind; I still have will. I know our history more than you do. I know the wishes of those heroes and those who lie elsewhere more than you do. I know the wishes of the chiefs, dead and alive." - At 6th Zanu PF National People's Congress, 2014.
