Local companies are set to take part in the SISAB International Trade Fair slated for the 27th to the 29th of February in Portugal.
The companies will participate in the SISAB fair alongside other firms from Southern Africa amid expectations of increasing trade volumes with the country.
The fair, which has bias in the agriculture industry, the food and beverages sector as well as the hotel industry, among others, is expected to draw 400 companies from across the world.
Food World General Manager, Mr Danford Mutashu said the invitation is a sign of confidence in the country and the local industry, and provides an opportunity to showcase the capability of locals in establishing firms and brands that can compete on the international arena.
“We will certainly try to link up with quite a number of companies that are congregating at the fair which attracts more than 400 companies. Only a few companies have been invited from Southern Africa and we definitely hope to create some synergies,” said Mr Mutashu.
The SISAB fair, which is held annually, also features roundtable and networking platforms from over 24 sectors and draws 101 countries.
Relations between Zimbabwe and Portugal were however affected negatively by the sanctions imposed by the European Union.
