This was said by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Dr Sylvester Maunganidze, who was the Guest of Honour at the official launch of the new tourism brand ‘Zimbabwe, a World of Wonders’ in China on Saturday.

The launch was attended by more than two hundred delegates who included senior officials from the Chinese government, travel and trade officials and the international media.

The Zimbabwe Chief Immigration Officer, Mr Clemence Masango, accompanied Zimbabwe Tourism Authority’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr Karikoga Kaseke, to this year’s edition of the China International Travel Mart, which ran concurrently with the launch.

Mr Masango assured the Chinese nationals that his department will strive to improve the current visa system, saying Chinese people coming to Zimbabwe as tourists will be given visas at the point of entry if they provide their details in advance.

Speaking from China, the tourism chief said another launch of a tourism brand will be done on Thursday this week in Beijing.

A Zimbabwean cultural outfit, Hwamanda Traditional Dance Group provided entertainment for the occasion.
