A new local soap focusing on the intricacies of life through one man’s quest to find true love entitled Soul-mate produced by rookie Producer Nyasha Nhau, is set to hit the small screen soon.

The soap borders on the power of true love between a prominent business executive, Conrad Jones and his quest for a soul-mate, who finally comes in the form of Cleopatra, a girl he meets at one of the orphanages he supports.

The plot which has love’s twists and turns, seduction and betrayal, unravels the complexities of life socially and emotionally as Conrad and Cleopatra find and lose each other due to their circles of influence.

Creator and Writer of the soap, Nyasha Nhau says Soul-mate is an attempt to show the power of love in the most difficult circumstances in life.

Part of the cast which includes Silca Paket who has the role of Cleopatra, Dadirai Mandishona who stars as Portia and Zanele Ndolwane who plays the role of Jane Conrad’s first love, say the soap is a great opportunity to show the abundant talent in Zimbabwe and urged the responsible Ministry to support local productions as the industry has great potential.

According to Nhau, the biggest challenge to the production has been lack of financial resources, but added that Zimbabwe’s film industry has abundant talented actors who have great potential in lifting the country’s flag on international platforms if given enough support.

The soap will have 6 seasons with 20 episodes each and has a 36-member cast.

When it hits the small screen, it will be Zimbabwe’s 8th local soap after Studio 263, The Saga, Legacies, Fading Pictures and the now defunct Estate Blues, Fragments and Amakorokoza.
