The Zimbabwe Republic Police is set to open a new police post in Mhondoro-Ngezi.

The new post, Mbudzirume, under Chief Murambwa comes at a time when stock theft was on the increase in the area.

Stock theft which had become rampant in the Mhondoro-Ngezi area of Makwavarara is set to be reduced following the groundbreaking ceremony of a new police post.

Speaking during the ground-breaking ceremony, Officer Commanding Mashonaland West Province Senior Assistant Commissioner Rangarirai Mushaurwa commended people in the area for assisting the ZRP in realising some of its goals.

The National Assembly for Mhondoro-Ngezi Cde Mike Gava donated bicycles for the new police post, among other several pledges.

Mhondoro-Ngezi residents had expressed concern over the increase in cattle rustling leading to the establishment of Mbudzirume Post.
